FRIDAY CLASS | Twisty Twine
Instructor: Lynne Hutton
Class Description:
Twisty-Twine: The Ultimate Stash-Busting Fiber Fun!
Welcome to the Twisty-Twine workshop! If you’ve ever wondered what to do with leftover fabric—too small for quilting, too pretty to toss—this is the perfect project. In this class, you’ll learn how to transform scrap fabric, cut into 1” lengths, into a surprisingly strong, functional, and beautiful hand-spun twine.
There’s truly no better stash-buster than making Twisty-Twine! Using nothing more than your hands, you’ll twist and ply your fabric strips into a durable cord that’s as useful as it is charming. Students of all skill levels can join in—if you can twist your fingers, you can make twine.
Twisty-Twine can be used for:
Wrapping gifts in eco-friendly style
Coiling and sewing into baskets or trivets
Tying up garden plants or trellises
Crafting handles, tags, embellishments, or decorative accents
…and any other creative use you can dream up!
By the end of the session, you’ll walk away with:
A length of your own handmade twine
The skill to continue making endless yardage at home
Inspiration for using Twisty-Twine in future projects
Get ready to turn scraps into something sturdy, stylish, and totally addictive to make. Once you start twisting, you’ll never look at your fabric leftovers the same way again!
