FRIDAY CLASS | Graphing for Knit and Crochet

Graphing for Knitting and Crochet
Skill Level: Intermediate
Required Skills: This class is suitable for knitters and crocheters!
Crocheters: Single crochet, double crochet stitches; colorwork experience recommended
Knitters: Knit and purl; colorwork experience recommended
New Techniques: Creating original knit or crochet graphs using graph paper, an 8-bit drawing
app, and graphing software
Workshop Description: Would you like to be able to create your own original graphs for a Fair
Isle yoke or a Corner to Corner blanket? This class will show you how! You will learn a variety of methods from easy paper and pencil graphing to working with digital images. In class, you will design a small colorwork motif and make a small project to test your graph. Note: Grab all of your stitchy friends because this fun workshop brings together our knitting and crochet friends!
Materials:
Smooth worsted weight yarn (#4) in 2 or more contrasting colors
US Size H (5mm) hook
Any digital devices you are comfortable using: i.e., cell phone, tablet, laptop
Basic stitching supplies: stitch markers, scissors, tapestry needle, etc.

PLEASE NOTE: This class takes place on Friday (Feb 27) at the Turnbull Building. The Scenic Stitches Fiber Festival vendor market, artist demos, and additional classes will take place Saturday and Sunday (Feb 28 and March 1) at the Chattanooga Convention Center.
